Built for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux
For the first time ever, home inspectors have the luxury of using inspection reporting software within the stable Mac OS X environment, and the ability to transfer files from a Windows machine to an Apple machine, and vice-versa. This is also the first time that inspection reporting software has been available for the ever-increasingly popular Linux platform.

Being able to transfer files from one OS to another allows you to use a Windows UMPC or small laptop in the field and then transfer it to your Mac desktop or laptop back at home or in the office. Or from a Mac laptop to a Mac desktop, or Windows to Windows, Windows to Linux, Linux to Mac, etc.
The easiest way to transfer a file would be to drag it onto a USB drive. These devices are very small and light and can fit on a key chain. Or you can email it to yourself. Of if you have multiple inspections, you can email it back to the office for an employee to finish up and email to the client while you're still in the field.
Transfering InspectMaster (.imi) files from one operating system to another is a simple process. First locate the inspection by clicking 'Inspection' on the main menu and selecting 'Explore'.

This will open up a window that reveals the contents of your Inspection folder where the inspection (.imi) files are stored. Select the file you need and drag it directly into the storage device. This way it will make a duplicate copy and leave the original where it is.

To email the file directly from a Mac, select 'Finder' from the main menu bar and follow the path in the image. When you get to 'Send File' and release, it will open your default email program and attach the file to the email.

It's that easy. Try it some time.
